About

sherriI am a website and web applications developer. I enjoy both front-end and back-end programming. My journey to become a web developer started over 20 years ago. I received both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida. I spent over 10 years working for IBM as a Software Engineer. I decided to take time off to raise my four children. When it was time to re-enter the workforce,  I decided to become a web developer because I thought it would be interesting, challenging, and most of all, it would take advantage of my programming skills.

I spent two years at Portland Community College obtaining an Associates of Applied Science degree in Web Development and Design. I took classes in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, SQL, Java, SEO, eCommerce, database design, web mockups, WordPress, and web applications such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Adobe Edge Animate. These new skills along with my past programming experience have given me a comprehensive understanding of web development. In addition, having an engineering background has given me excellent problem solving skills, which I use daily for development and debug. I love web development and am enjoying it as my career.
